PLAY-RE-PLAY
"PLAY-RE-PLAY" is a solo dance performance that explores the phenomenon of déjà vu and the possibility to recreate memories by composing and decomposing patterns rooted in our subconsciousness. When desiring to repeat them, we find ourselves pondering various questions. Why does a specific moment take the form of a memory? What compels us to replay it?
Minimalist distinguishable movement language is depicting the processes of memory recollection. Can the memory be recreated in exactly the same way or we alter it each time it has been repeated? How is our brain creating an illusion that we already experienced or seen a particular action?
Audience members are invited to shape the performance in real time—choosing which memories to revisit, the direction of recall (forward or backward), and the emotional intensity. Fixed rules give the performer structure, but also room to explore freely within it. This blend of interaction and improvisation ensures the experience remains alive, unpredictable, and deeply engaging for every viewer.
The performance received a Third Award and Critics Award on the Festival of the Choreographic Miniarures Belgrade in November 2024.
